Recently, I attending a music award show in Guildford at the small club/wine bar called Fahrenheit. The Dirty Disco also attended to pick up one of their prestigious awards. I didn't manage to catch them in Fahrenheit because we moved on but did get to have a chat to them in Subway on the way home. I must say, they were all very nice and the girl doing the robot in the video wants to get noticed more! Anyway, If you manage to look past the scary outfits and funky dancing this Indie song and band have a very trendy feel and I personally can listen to it again and again.

XX's - island

This song was sent to me via Facebook near enough two months ago but was released in the UK on the 26th of October in 2009. I loved this track as soon as I heard it and currently have it on my iTunes and iPod. The Indie group was started in 2005 and consisted of four members but their second guitarist and keyboardist left in the late months of 2009. I must say that the remaining three have been doing fine with out the fourth member, Baria Qureshi. This now talented trio has a cool chilling groove and a considerably dark video in the case of xx's - island.
The comforting voices of both female and male artists accompany the guitar melody very well, making this a top contender for my current top 15 PLaylist.

Katy B, a sweet look with a rude girl attitude!

Katy B is currently one of my new favourite UK female vocalists. With her classic funky house song 'tell me' getting everyone in the mood and her latest Dub-step track 'Katy on a mission' this London born signer is destined to be a star.

Nicki Minaj wants to be a younger little Kim?

I have always been a great fan of Lil' Kim and actually owned two copies of her first album, Notorious K.I.M. released on 27/6/2000. This is because a close friend ran over my fresh new CD with a wheeled office chair. Close friend - "I still have not forgotten."
Her dirty and provocative lyrics made a generation of teenagers blast their music so loud that neighbours 9 houses down the road could hear her filthy tongue.





But in 2010, it seems, her kinky Hip Hop style is dying and becoming a distant memory in comparison to a very sexy artist called Nicki Minaj.
Nicki's, slutty Barbie doll flow has enabled her to work with many of the leading artists and I personally think her performance at the VMA's was brilliant.
